NJ Micro Backyard Wedding | Katie + Matt

It was late April, and I was trying to wrap my brain around what was happening, and what the future would hold for Daniel Nydick Wedding Photography. The wedding photography gods decided to smile upon me...Katie & Matt reached out to me to photograph their intimate backyard micro wedding at their Cranford, NJ home. I felt a brief moment of relief coupled with gratitude to be able to do what I love; photographing two amazing people tying the knot and becoming husband and wife. I was given a small oasis amidst the craziness that the first months of COVID had delivered.

I had been yearning to photograph the tenderness, love, and joy of a same-sex marriage for years, yet hadn’t had the opportunity before. New Jersey Wedding at St. Lucy's, Newark and The Venetian, Garfield

It's not everyday you get to photograph a wedding where the new bride and groom share a choreographed ballroom (first) dance that's accented with falling snow and shooting sparklers inside the lovely Palazzo Room at The Venetian, 546 River Dr, Garfield, NJ 07026. Well, that's exactly what I got to do.
