Scotland Run NJ - NJ Wedding Photography
Scotland Run NJ Indian American Wedding
Come enjoy the photos of vibrant colors and the double ceremonies at a summer India meets America wedding at Scotland Run, Williamstown, NJ.
Do you have any advice for future brides and grooms to be?
Breathe. No one else knows what goes on in the background. We had some hiccups the day of and all I hear is “The wedding was amazing!” It will all be okay because you’re marrying the love of your life.
Rolling with it let Stephanie & Darshan enjoy their day, and that truly is THE BEST advice you’ll find anywhere.
“Choose Daniel. He’s incredible to work with. Photography is the part of your day that stays with you forever. Pick the best! “ - Stephanie
How about a behind-the-scenes photo?
How did you meet?
We met at work during the pandemic.
WOW! Talk about silver linings!
How did you get engaged?
We got engaged at the beach! We then had a coconut ceremony the next week.
A coconut ceremony is also called Kalasha.
Bonus image from their NJ engagement session at Cross Estate Gardens because why wouldn’t I :)
How has your relationship grown over the years?
Incredibly. We’ve grown together with patience and communication. The things we thought could be barriers at the start were able to be worked through and worked on with both of those things.
This just warms my heart. Love that lasts is the love that takes on challenges head-on and overcomes it all!
What are some fun things you do together as a couple and with friends?
We love breweries, wineries, trips, football games, food, and trying to bring our dog Mocha out.
My kind of couple right here! I can absolutely relate. My wife and I always enjoy all sorts of cuisine, and one of our go-to dates is visiting cideries. Being a pet lover myself, I got a kick out of the custom Mocha napkins.
What’s new since being married? What’s solidified/bonded/grown in your relationship since?
We’ve been able to begin our date nights again which were hard to do during this process. Weddings are beautiful but the planning was a lot for a four-day event.
Date night = great night for sure. That’s what keeps a couple in touch with where they started and how they fell in love.
Tell me about the details of your day.
Our decorator, Nirali decor, did a spectacular job! We had the Barat in the morning followed by the Indian ceremony and an American ceremony in the evening! We had sage green and dusty rose as our colors and cheese steaks and falafels for favors!
Every detail was clearly meticulously chosen. I mean, look at the pictures!
Why did you choose your venue?
Our venue was so accommodating to our multicultural needs and it was beautiful.
As a wedding photographer who truly believes that love has no bounds, I welcome people of all races, gender identities, sexual orientations, and religions. It’s clear that all of us on Team Stephanie & Darshan were their perfect fit.
What was your menu?
Our menu was amazing! Cocktail hour was incredible along with the reception. For reception we chose Monte Cristo which is Chilean sea bass, surf and turf which was crab cake and filet mignon, chicken picatta, and Indian cuisine which included 4 dishes.
When South Asian meets West, how can you go wrong? Answer…you can’t!
Tell me about your gown? Why was this “the one”?
It had pockets! Also, The details were unique that the floral details were not flowers- they were more stemmed than other dresses I saw. I knew it was the one when I was grinning from ear to ear wearing it. My Indian dress- I loved the flowers on it and the color. It’s everything I envisioned for the Indian ceremony.
What was your favorite moment of your wedding day?
I loved walking out for a sneak peek (I found a balcony where I can see everything) during the barat and seeing my then soon-to-be husband having the time of his life with our friends and family.
Ha! I didn’t know this :)
We loved our first look and seeing each other for the first time.
It’s always a magical thing. I even tear up sometimes.
Did anything go wrong?
The things that went wrong- no one even knew about. Everything is always fixable.
Zen at its finest right here, folks!
First dance song?
The dip says this was THE song! They even practiced it at their engagement session.
Where did you honeymoon?
We did a Mini Moon to Punta Cana! It was amazing and we hope to see Greece or Portugal next year.
I wonder if they knew my wife and I are thinking of having our long overdue honeymoon in Greece?
How did you find out about me? What was it about me and my services that told you I was the one?
A bridal Facebook group! Best decision ever!!! You’re so kind and comforting which is what we needed with all the other wedding stress that has the potential for happening. You made us feel so comfortable in front of a camera (which is hard for both of us) and your work is incredibly amazing. We’re so happy to have had you there supporting us and capturing our story. We look forward to having your art on our walls for the rest of our lives.
Ok, now I’ve got THE BIGGEST smile on my face. My goal from day one is to do everything I can to make sure my couples can rest their heads at night knowing they’re in good hands.
